Hungry & Tired

I just thought this was too cute not to share
Alan (eating, of course) and looking at the TV, not sure what's on
Jack trying to take a little nap after working all day

We have been busy

I can not tell you the last day that my husband & Alan's daddy had off from work, he has been having to work 7 days a week for quite some time now and this past Thursday & Friday he took off 2 days to spend with us and it was great. The Lord has blessed Alan and me with such a wonderful Daddy/Husband/provider and we are so thankful for all that he does for us. We Love You Jack and we can't wait for you to have a vacation, you deserve one!!!
Jack, Alan and I want to thank Aunt Abi (aka as Juicy & my sister) for helping us the past 2 weekends. Juicy I dont know what we would do without you, Jack and I had a date night, hosted a Sunday School Christmas Party and went to 2 other Christmas Parties and Juicy kept Alan ALL 4 of those nights. She loves him so much and loves spending time with him and she said that's just what Aunt's are for!!!
Thanks Juicy, We Love You

I know I have already said this but I love the Christmas season and getting to spend time with my family and the many other things that Christmas brings. Can't wait to get HOME!!!

Santa

Jack, Aunt Abi and I took Alan to see Santa for the first time, and we did not have any trouble at all getting him to smile for the camera, he liked sitting on Santa's lap (he even gave us a big grin when he pulled his beard).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Ornament Swap - 2009

Yesterday Alan and I invited our friend's and their Mama's over for an ornament swap that I hope will become a tradition. We all had a great time. All of the children got some really cute ornaments that will always be really special.
This is best picture we could get with 9 children and we have 2 more that will be joining our group soon (one due in January, her Mama is in the pink shirt & one due in March and her Mama couldn't come).

I turned 9 Months old yesterday and I am getting to be such a big boy Mommy and Daddy can't believe it. I am eating jar food, drinking juice, sitting up & pulling up, jabbering a little, moved to my big boy car seat, i love to take my bath & this past month i got my first pair of shoes.

Christmas Time & Our Decorations

Alan watched very closely as Mommy and Daddy put up the Christmas decorations in his snowman pj's.
Here is Alan opening his first Christmas present, he was more into the bow and tissue paper than anything else!!!
I thought I would share a few pictures of our home all decorated for Christmas, I know there are a few people that only want to see pictures of Alan (Rick G.), ha ha!!!

Thanksgiving - Alan's First

First of all I need to say that I am the worst mother this was my child's first Thanksgiving and I did not take the 1st picture, so for that I am sorry (to Ms. Betty and to all of our faithful readers at Mando/aka Daddy's work), but I could not let Thanksgiving get past us without doing a post. I just want to say during this Thanksgiving season how Thankful Jack and I are this year for the birth of a beautiful baby boy, he brings both of us so much joy and happiness and we both love him more than we will ever be able to put into words, and we are so glad that God chose us to be his Mommy and Daddy. We are also thankful for our family/friends, health, church, our home/necesseties, and many other things that I cant think of to name, but we are so blessed.

From our family to yours, we hope you all had a Happy Turkey Day!!!

Playdate

Claire one of Alan's friend's came over to play yesterday. She is 18 months old & Alan is 8 months old but they played wonderful together, he just watched her, and she talked to him so sweet, she would say "pat da baby". Then she would tell him "War Hey" (which means war eagle hey), her parents are starting her out right!!!

We took them outside and they both loved it, the weather was beautiful. Thanks for coming to play with us Claire we hope you come back soon!!!

Alan's New T-Shirt

While we were in Decatur the Decatur High School Students sold t-shirts in honor of Mom and they look different than the shirt Alan is wearing, but I went to the place where they were printed to see if they could make Alan one because I thought he needed one too, and the owner of the shop agreed but he did say that the print would not fit on one of Alan's size shirts, so I went and got him a t-shirt and this is what the NICE man at the t-shirt shop put on this shirt for Alan and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! He also said it was his treat to us, so anyone in Decatur that needs any t-shirt business please go see the people at Eternities on Central Parkway they are so nice.

Still Here & Our Visit to Decatur

Alan and I went to Decatur for a week and we really missed Daddy but we did lots of things while we there. We went so that I could be there for Mom's surgery and by the way she did great (they got all of the cancer) and she is at home recovering. Maw Maw & Paw Paw helped me so much with Alan and they were lifesavers.
We got to see Aunt Tammy
&
spend LOTS of time with our dog Buddy (he would try to protect Alan)
Alan had his first baby cookie at LeeLee & Bigdaddy's

We went to church with Mama G and she took Alan & I out to eat with her lunch bunch. Alan had so much fun he went to sleep in his highchair after she fed him, but we had a wonderful trip and we already miss everyone (even though we came because Lee Lee was under the weather).
We can't wait to see you all again at Thanksgiving!!!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month & A Special Mom

Mom went to the Doctor this past Tuesday and got wonderful news. Dr. Lobo (her oncologist) told her that the most recent pet scan showed that she does not have cancer anywhere in her body except the right breast and that was an answer to many prayers. Mom will be having surgery soon (probably this next week) so please continue to keep her in your prayers.
We are all so proud of Mom's faith and how positive she is and how hard she is fighting this battle.
As I am sure many of you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and so many people have done special things for Mom to honor her during October.
Decatur High School (which is where mom is a teacher) had a day to honor her this week and they raised money for one of the Cancer Treatment Center's in Mom's area and they raised over $300. The whole day was a surprise to her!!!
Also the DHS Football Team brought her a signed football from the team today to her house.
One of Mom's former students Jerraud Powers who graduated from Decatur High School , then went to Auburn and played football, now he plays for the undefeated Indianapolis Colts came to see Mom last week right after they played the Titans (and each player had to wear something pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness). So Jerraud brought Mom his gloves that he wore in that actual game, and he told her that he dedicated that game to her.

Our New Porch

When we bought our house it had a nice deck on it, but recently Jack and I decided that we would love to cover it so we could enjoy the deck more (and eventually we might screen it in), but I already love it, I could spend all day out there.

The Big 5-0!!!

Our family minus a few

Dad hit a special milestone this past Wednesday so last weekend Abi, Alan and I went to Decatur and we tried to surprise him but he is a little too stubborn and caught on, but we had fun anyway!!! Mom, Dad, Abi and I went to Brick with some of Dad's friends and we all had a great time celebrating his special day.

Lunch with Friends

Alan and I had lunch with Troy and his mom, Elyse, yesterday at Momma G's and we had so much fun. Both of the boys were so good, Troy got hungry and they had to leave us (a little early) but we understood, so Alan and I sat by the window and watched cars go by in the beautiful sunshine we had yesterday and enjoyed a place where there was not any construction going on.

Lot's Going On!!!

We have been pretty busy around here lately, this past Thursday Aunt Tammy came to see us and we had so much fun (we went to eat Mexican food) our favorite!!! She read Alan books and they counted & he got lots and lots of kisses.
On Friday I took Aunt Abi to an appointment so Alan got to play with Miss Jamie, one of his favorite babysitters, they had a blast. Then we had some company come for the Auburn/Kentucky game and they are expecting their first baby so they had a little experience and had fun watching Alan and I had fun seeing Monica I have only seen her once since I graduated high school.
We had another girlfriend from high school and her little boy join us for the game and a visit and it was wonderful to see everyone and catch up
Then Monday morning we started a new project at our house, we are covering our deck so I have had workmen at my house the last two mornings VERY EARLY (and it is loud), and lil man has not been taking very good naps and he just looks at me like Mommy what in the world is going on. They hope to be done by the end of this week, but you know how that goes so we might just venture North and see the grandparents, YAY!!!
Bless his heart this morning he was so tired from no nap yesterday, it just caught up with him, and I couldn't resist the picture.
I sure do love this precious child

Just For Mom

Today was a great day, the weather was beautiful and there was a "Think Pink" walk for Breast Cancer Awareness in Downtown Opelika for the East Alabama area. The money raised from the walk goes to help women in this area get mammograms who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Abi and I walked together (and a friend of hers joined us), to honor our Mom.
Back in June when I started learning about this disease I realized that you can never be too careful and today my eyes were really opened to see so many people affected by this disease, but on a positive note there were A LOT of survivors there and my prayer is that next year Mom will be able to join us for the walk.
Here we are with the signs we wore on the back of our shirts, the signs say
"Walking in honor of my Mom"
Ashley (Abi's friend that joined us, thanks), Me & Abi

We had a great time being together and I have prayed all week for sunshine because the weather forecast was not looking good and the good Lord just blessed us with a bright sunshiny day and I as I stood there with my sister who is so special to me praying and clapping to the music, I just prayed that our Mother will be healed and that she will feel like herself again REAL soon.

WE LOVE YOU MOM!!!

We Got Out The Highchair!!!

Today Jack put Alan's highchair together and he sat in it for the first time and he really seemed to like it. Jack got his picture, and had no trouble getting him to smile!!!

2 First

Within the last week we have had two things happen for the first time (I will tell you the good one first), Alan and I went to Decatur for a few days and while we were there he sat up alone at LeeLee & Bigdaddy's house. I was so glad that mom got to see him do this and she felt so good while we were there and they played in the floor together and did all the things that grandmothers like to do. We still have a ways to go with this sitting up thing though and here is a picture of our lil man sitting up!!!
The other first is that Alan has experienced his first time being sick this week and we feel so blessed that he is ALREADY 7 months and is just now sick the first time, but he has an ear infection in one ear and the doctor gave him some of the good ole bubble gum medicine that has been around since I was a child so we are trying to get him well.
Also just a little update when I took him to doctor yesterday he weighed close to 17 pounds.
