Mom went to the Doctor this past Tuesday and got wonderful news. Dr. Lobo (her oncologist) told her that the most recent pet scan showed that she does not have cancer anywhere in her body except the right breast and that was an answer to many prayers. Mom will be having surgery soon (probably this next week) so please continue to keep her in your prayers.
We are all so proud of Mom's faith and how positive she is and how hard she is fighting this battle.
As I am sure many of you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and so many people have done special things for Mom to honor her during October.
Decatur High School (which is where mom is a teacher) had a day to honor her this week and they raised money for one of the Cancer Treatment Center's in Mom's area and they raised over $300. The whole day was a surprise to her!!!
Also the DHS Football Team brought her a signed football from the team today to her house.
One of Mom's former students Jerraud Powers who graduated from Decatur High School , then went to Auburn and played football, now he plays for the undefeated Indianapolis Colts came to see Mom last week right after they played the Titans (and each player had to wear something pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness). So Jerraud brought Mom his gloves that he wore in that actual game, and he told her that he dedicated that game to her.
