The Lake - 2010

We met Jack's whole family at Smith Lake for the 4th of July (it is becoming a tradition) at his Sister & Brother-in-Law's house on the lake and stayed about 3 days and we had so much fun with everyone. There are 15 of us in all and it is always so much fun to see everybody since we dont get to see each other very often. Once again the company was great, the food was delicious and we made memories that we will always remember. I did not take as many pictures this year as I did last year but I did take a few...

My Mom was invited to join in on the fun

yes Alan has on a pink life jacket but it was the only one we could get him to wear, so it was that or no swimming for him, I personally think he just wanted to show everyone that real men wear pink

Our niece & nephew caught a BIG catfish
we have our own family name for this fish "old blue"

Thanks Again Aunt Tammy & Uncle Ronnie

Update

I am so sorry for not posting in a while. We have been so busy, first we were out of town, and then our poor OLD computer got a virus and we THINK it is fixed. So I am going to try to catch you up. Alan has turned 16 months old and is growing so much (I will do another post about that), and as I said we went out to lake for the 4th with the WHOLE Anglea family and had a blast. We have been staying so busy, going swimming (almost everyday), going to eat with the lunch bunch and spending lots of time with Aunt Juicy since she has lots of free time this summer.

Father's Day

I am a little late with this post, but better late than never we did celebrate it on the day at our house. I want to say first that we all are so thankful for our heavenly father and all that he blessses us with each and everyday. Next I want to say how grateful I am (and Alan too) for my wonderful husband, he is a great father to our son and provider for our family and we appreciate everything that he does. Jack, Alan and I also want to say Happy Father's Day to our Father's/Granddaddy's.
Also Happy Father's Day to all of the other special Dad's & Men in our lives!!!
We spent part of the weekend with my parents, they came to visit us and it was very special to get to be with my Dad, then Sunday the three of us went to church. Jack got a new saw that he wanted for Father's Day

Beach 2010

Alan's first beach trip - 2010

We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Destin and it was Alan's first trip to the beach and he loved it!!! He loved the sand and the ocean. The weather was beautiful and we did not see any signs of oil the whole time.

Lucy's Baby Shower

I have been a bad blogger lately but Alan and I have been on the go. About a month ago I helped host a baby shower for a friend of mine that is originally from the same hometown as me (Decatur, AL) but she lives in Tampa, FL now and we all had the best time getting together and she got some precious things for her little girl that should be arriving in early September!!!
Congrats Lucy & JD!!!

Picnic at the Duck Pond

Alan and I had a picnic with some of our friend's at the park/duck pond the other day and we had so much fun being with everyone. I tried to get a picture of everyone and the only person I missed was Miss Meredith (her little one was putting on such a fashion show I just got sidetracked, ha ha).

Relay for Life in Decatur

This post might be a little long but our family (minus Jack) went to the Relay for Life in Decatur last Friday night and it was GREAT!!!
We got to celebrate the recent news of Mom being CANCER FREE and this journey that our family has been on.
I am not going to thank individual people because I might forget someone but I do want to thank all of the people who gave money to our team and the American Cancer Society, all of the people who donated items to our team, all of the friends/people who came out that night & supported at home with their prayers, Danielle Shirley the team captain for making the whole night so special for Mom and to all of the DHS students who gave up a Friday night to come be with one of their teachers what a special gift.
Most of all I want to thanks to my Mom for all that she has taught me while she has been on this journey. She has taught me to always be strong, do not complain, have a positive attitude, HAVE A GREAT FAITH IN GOD, believe in miracles. Our family has certainly been blessed over the last year and I cannot begin to thank everyone enough for the love & support but the journey has really just begun.
Mom was picked to be the Honorary Chariperson that night and she gave such an inspirational speech.
